We are coming to Christchurch, again!

First off, let me just apologize for the lack of updates this month. I have been absolutely slammed with work. The good news, is we are VERY close to release of our first module. Lifeship: Prelude - Escape from Earth! We have been testing, polishing, and readying the print and play files for you wonderful people. This module will be available from this website, completely free of charge.

CEDALION - Your Lifeship AI Assistant

Some quick thoughts about the Prelude.

Prelude Length: Three missions feels very small compared to the 150+ we are offering in the main game. That being said, the three missions are super fun to play, have great progression, and some completely unique mechanics and enemies. (Plus, the third mission is actually 3 shoved together...BOSS FIGHT!)

Learning curve. The Prelude goes much faster than the main game. We introduce most of the prime concepts in the main game over the course of the first 6 missions. The prelude is only 3 missions long, so we give you quite a bit at the start. It is still scaffolded and you should be away laughing very quickly. The main game has a bunch of building, and on board the ship mechanics not present in the prelude, which allowed us to take the training wheels off more quickly.

Upgrades. A huge part of Lifeship is developing a character, a class, a build, and the Prelude delivers on this promise. The characters are exclusive to the Prelude, have completely unique equipment, and special rules. While there are only four classes available in the Prelude, (The Main game will have ~20), the classes are super fun to play, and you will get to upgrade them as you go, just like in the main game.

Story. Story. Story. The Prelude Missions are choice driven narratives with at least three different outcomes for each mission that then lead to completely different downtime encounters. Doing well in mission 1 will improve your chances in mission 2 and 3. Also included are SIX unique enemy scan stories and 8 unique death stories. (Clone bays are the best!) I am very excited for you to take part in a pivotal moment in the Lifeship's story.

Printing! Turns out, printing can be annoying. Wherever possible, I have endeavored to make the printing and cutting process painless. This includes step by step instructions about which pages to print and when. Given the branching nature of the stories, not every page of the file will need to be printed.

CEDALION - Otherwise known as the Lifeship AI assistant, is fantastic and I have had a great time making sure that Solo players and small groups can still experience the full wrath of a Terraworm.

Besides the Prelude, we are also coming to Christchurch for Board Games by the Bay.

The plan is to bring a few copies of the Prelude with us to give out as prizes! We will also have some shirts and dice and our smiling selves. Honestly, we are so freaking excited. So, come find us in CHCH on the 25-27th of October, or if you are keen to try out the Prelude before hand, get in touch and get a sneak peek at it before we roll it out to the public.
